So, I've Been Elected

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), is the national organization, founded in 1961, whose mission is to strengthen, nurture and promote the professional not-for-profit American theatre.

As a newly elected Board Member of TCG, starting a two-year term of service July 1, 2015, this blog will be used to chronicle my advocacy participation and list TGC opportunities for engagement that I choose to highlight and am able to publicize through this platform.

I am very excited to be a part of this organization. Having come to know TCG since I performed IN THE CONTINUUM at the 2007 annual Conference at the Guthrie in Minnesota, I've seen them put the proverbial money where their mouth is, not only by providing opportunities to get SUBSTANTIAL RESOURCES to ARTISTS so that they may create work, forge partnerships and develop themselves, but also by leading the industry in its REAL TACKLING of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion problems that persist on stage and behind the scenes. In the latter, by the way, they are SINCERE, PHENOMENAL and worthy of SUPPORT and COMMENDATION!

I don't know what to expect... a lot of work, no doubt. I hope to represent myself, and my community of artists and arts educators well, making sure that our voices and concerns are heard as the organization considers policy and priorities for the future. I'll certainly be open to hearing from every theatre artist that has a vested interest in chiming in. Feel free to send me messages...it takes a village.
